How to play Lacrosse! Instructional writing!

Hello and welcome back to my blog! In the first few weeks of term 4 we have been writing instructions on the country we got chosen to do. I got Canada and choose to write about the game Lacrosse. Here is what it looks like.

How to play Lacrosse!
Lacrosse has its origins in a tribal game played by native Americans and Canadians. It was made in 1636. It was modified by European people after though.
The aim of the game is to get the ball in the goal to get points.
Lacrosse is a team sport played with ten players with three attackmen, three midfielders, three defensemen and one goalie.
First to play Lacrosse you will need the following gear:
The Crosse (Lacrosse stick)

The ball (made of rubber)

Lacrosse helmet

A mouth guard

Lacrosse gloves

Lacrosse shoulder pads

A Lacrosse field looks like this.

Rules of Lacrosse:
Only the goalie can touch the ball with their hands. All other players must us the Lacrosse stick.
When an opponent has the ball or is within five yards of the ball a player can body check them. A body check is contact from the front between the waist and the shoulders.
The defensive player must be on the defensive side with the goalie. The attackers on the offensive side. And the midfielders can be wherever they want.
The area around the goal called the crease can not be entered by an opponent but the opponent can use their stick to grab the ball out.
A Lacrosse game is at least 48 minutes long with each quarter being 12 minutes long.
The game starts with a face-off between two players on each team. The ball sits on the ground between the two players and the referee blows the whistle and they both try to get the ball.
You must us the stick to pick up and pass carry and throw the ball.

How to play the game!
With the ball in the centre, two players on each team try to get the ball when the whistle blows.
You can either pass it or run towards the goal to get the ball in.

Have you ever played Lacrosse before? Tell me in the comments. See ya.
