PBL main artefact with planner 5d!

Hello again and welcome back this term for PBL our driving question was: What will the future ask of us? Me and my friend Pacis decided to make a house with planner 5d.
This house is to house the homeless. It has most things a house would need. A kitchen, dining room, bathroom and laundry. And then it has three bedrooms for the people in the house to sleep in.
What do you think of it? Tell me in the comments. Goodbye.

PBL business cards!

Hello. Haere mai. Welcome back to my blog. This term for PBL we had to design something to help the future. And with that a sub artefact. Like a brioche or a business card. Me and Pacis made a business card and poster. For the business card we used the website logo-maker.
This is our business card. I am very proud of it because it looks professional and has our own custom logo. Have you ever created a business card with logo-maker? Tell me in the comments. See ya.

Stanford Lagunita course!

Hello and welcome back. Throughout the term we have been doing the Stanford Lagunita course.
In lesson 1 we were learning about what math is and finding out other things that math really is.
In lesson 2 we learned about having a growth mindset during math because if you have a growth mindset you achieve more. Where as if you have a fixed mindset then you not opening yourself up to new things.
In lesson 3 we learned about making mistakes and about speed. You do NOT have to be fast at math because most successors in math actually are slow and take their time to work out the equation. And mistakes help your brain grow because you are learning off what you have done wrong.
In lesson 4 we learned about making connections and that you can work with others to get the answer because then everyone contributes ideas and maybe if you put them altogether then you could get the answer.
In lesson 5 we learned about number patterns and that math can be all to do with patterns. Sometimes you just need to find the pattern and you have the answer.
And in lesson 6 we learned about math in life and the spiral that Fibonacci found out. Image result for fibonacci spiral 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21
Have you done this course? Tell me what you thought about it in the comments. Goodbye.

Your invited to our PBL expo!

Kia Ora. Haere mai. Welcome back. This term for PBL we had to design something to help the future. We also had to create an invite to our parents and share it on here. So where it says Mum and Dad it actually means to you.
What type of showcases have you done before? Tell me in the comments. Kia koa.

Planning our PBL!

Hello and welcome back. This term for PBL our topic is the future and our question is: What will the future ask of us? We had to plan out what we were going to do. This is mine and Pacis' PBL plan.
Have you ever done something like this before? Tell me about it in the comments. Goodbye.

R.E. Advertisement for the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. In week eight we designed a R.E. advertisement for the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish. This is my one.
What do you think of it? Have you ever created a poster to advertise something for your school? Tell me in the comments. See ya.

Science Investigation!

Hi and welcome back. In week 7 me and my friend William. We got to choose what we wanted to do. William and I did gravity free water although all the tests failed. We watched a video to know what we were doing and they seemed to get it right. Have a look.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqJwN3bXQUs
Ours did not end up like the one in the video. No where near the one in the video. We had to right down everything that happened which was annoying because we started writing what happened late so we had to memorise everything. But it was fun to splash the water on each other when it fell out of the cup.
Have you done this science experiment before? If you have tell me how it ended in the comments. Otherwise. Goodbye.

Volunteering at the Curtain Bank!

Hi again and welcome back. In week seven we did volunteering for one of the three places: Curtain bank, Food bank and Graffiti removal. I got put into the curtain bank. There wasn't much you had to know. All you had to do was:
1. Measure the curtain.
2. Write the measurements down.
3. Fold the curtain.
4. Staple the small paper of measurements on the curtain.
5. Repeat that with the other curtains in the set.
6. Pack them into a bag.
It didn't take that long unless you had a set with around a whole house of curtains. Not literally a house but all the curtains in a house. We got a brake half way through to have something to eat. My only friend there would've been Max H but he wasn't here, so my friend Christopher came instead.
Have you ever volunteered for the curtain bank, food bank or graffiti removal? If you have tell me what you did in the comments. Bye.

Finns Quest: The Queen Seekers!

Hello again and welcome back to my blog. This term we had to read a novel and then do these reading slides about it. I choose the book Finns Quest: The Queen Seekers.
It is a really good book. I had to make a slide that explained the book. Here is the slide.

What books have you read and retold like this? Tell me in the comments. See ya

A trip into Space! Narrative Writing!

Kia Ora. Haere mai. This term we had to write a narrative on the future. My one is called A trip into Space. Here is the introduction.
“John! Jake! Billy! Do you read me over!” shouted Commander Ross, “John! Billy! Jake!”
“We read you loud and clear commander,” Jake, the captain of the mission, spook through the mask to Nasa, “But why the moon first?”
“Doesn’t matter. Don’t mess around. We need evidence that aliens live on other planets. People that are homeless are at stake here,” called Commander Ross.
“Yeah we know Ross,” John said.
“IT’S COMMANDER ROSS TO YOU THANK YOU VERY MUCH! AND DON’T YOU DARE BE RUDE LIKE THAT TO ME!” screamed Commander Ross.
“All right let’s split up but attach your lines to the ship just incase one of us gets flung into deep space OK?” said Billy.
“Affirmative,” said Jake and John. They all walked over to the ship and clipped a cable from their suit belts to the hooks on the ship. They each walked of into a different direction.

What do you think of it? If you want to read the whole thing ask me in the comments. Otherwise. Have you had to write a narrative like this? Tell me in the comments. Goodbye.

Football Term 3!

Hi again and welcome back. I know we finished winter sport a long time ago but I need to talk about it. I played football in the C team with coaches Miss Lover and Mrs Rooney. I got my first goal in term two! Which I was super proud of because I had never had a goal yet. Throughout the season I got five goals. Two in one game, two in another game and one in the last game of the season. We played at Hagley park.
